Where Sunrise Manor Is
Sunrise Manor occupies the east valley, between the urban core and Frenchman Mountain, along the historic Boulder Highway corridor toward Lake Mead. The map below shows the community so you can orient the mountain, casinos, and dining in this guide.
Frenchman Mountain (Sunrise Mountain)
Frenchman Mountain rises 4,055 feet above the east valley floor, offering one of the most comprehensive panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley available without a helicopter. The summit hike is moderately strenuous – about 3.5 miles round trip with 1,400 feet of elevation gain – and best attempted in the cool months (October-April). From the top, the view spans the entire valley: the Strip, Summerlin, Henderson, and the Spring Mountains beyond.

Lake Mead & Hoover Dam Access
Boulder Highway, the historic route through Sunrise Manor, connects directly to Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Hoover Dam, and Boulder City. Sunrise Manor is the last community before the desert highway opens up – many day-trippers to Hoover Dam pass through here. The trip from Sunrise Manor to the Hoover Dam visitor center is roughly 25-30 minutes.

Locals Casinos
Sunrise Manor has two of the east valley’s established locals casinos – genuine community institutions rather than tourist properties.

Authentic Mexican Dining
Sunrise Manor’s large Latino community supports some of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in the valley. Along Boulder Highway and Nellis Boulevard you’ll find family-owned taquerias and birria specialists serving consommé, quesabirria tacos, and regional specialties – operating primarily for local clientele, with no tourist markup or watered-down menus.

Birria and quesabirria tacos, al pastor off the trompo, fresh consommé, aguas frescas, and weekend menudo and pozole – this is some of the best Mexican food in the metro.
The Boulder Highway and Nellis Boulevard corridors hold the densest concentration of family-owned taquerias and Mexican restaurants in Sunrise Manor.

Parks & Trails
Beyond Frenchman Mountain, Sunrise Manor and the adjacent east valley offer accessible everyday outdoor space.
The large regional park on the southwest edge near Paradise – a fishing lake, sports courts, picnic areas, and jogging trails.
East-valley wash trails offer flat, accessible walking and cycling routes, best used in the cool morning hours.
Neighborhoods
Sunrise Manor is overwhelmingly residential, mixing established older neighborhoods near the urban core with newer development toward the mountain.
Older, affordable single-family neighborhoods along Nellis and Boulder Highway, with the community’s deepest Latino food culture.
Newer hillside neighborhoods on the east edge, closer to the trailhead, with valley views.
Getting to Sunrise Manor from the Strip
Sunrise Manor is about 8-12 miles east of the Strip, 15-25 minutes via Boulder Highway or I-515, with no direct transit line. For a hike, a Hoover Dam day trip, or a taco crawl, a pre-booked fixed-rate ride is the simplest approach. Here’s the route from the Strip:
Personal Sedan Services provides direct service between any Las Vegas hotel and any Sunrise Manor destination – the Frenchman Mountain trailhead, a locals casino, a Boulder Highway taqueria, or a Hoover Dam day trip – at a pre-confirmed fixed rate with a licensed chauffeur and no surge pricing.
Getting Around Sunrise Manor
Sunrise Manor is a driving community spread across wide arterials, with limited transit. For visitors – especially for a Frenchman Mountain hike, a Lake Mead or Hoover Dam day trip, or a Boulder Highway taco crawl – a rental car or pre-booked private transportation is the most reliable option.
